Chan She Shu Yuen Clan Association is one of the renowned clan houses in Malaysia. It is the clan house of the Yuen family, the largest and one of the oldest surviving clan houses in Kuala Lumpur. Chan She Shu Yuan Clan Association has more than 100 years old of history and it is situated at Petaling Street or Kuala Lumpur Chinatown. Therefore, visitors can plan their trips to Chan She Shu Yuen Clan Association while visiting to Petaling Street.
The clan house was a welcome refuge home for newly-arrived migrants of China a century ago. Clan members with the same surnames like Chan, Chen and Tan are from the same ancestral ties dating back centuries ago were offered shelter and directions at Chan She Shu Yuen Clan House.
Chan She Shu Yuen Clan Association construction work began in 1897 and was completed in 1906. There are numerous documents tell of the hardship that went into constructing the building. All the building materials and construction items and even craftsmen were brought from China. Visitors can see there are extensive, elaborate and decorative cravings that depict historical figures, legends and sceneries in the wood, pottery, lime cast iron, and stone. Besides, the clan house distinctive architectural designs feature the curved ceramic green glazed tiles are set in a wave-like pattern; decorative ceramic blue and green tiles bear the motifs of auspicious Chinese symbols such as lotuses, peaches and plums; red and gold lacquered woodworks that depict images of dragons, phoenixes and paradise.

Today, Chan See Shu Yuen Clan Association is also known as Chan See Shu Yuen Clan Temple. While walking into the temple, visitors can see the central altar of the temple belongs to the clan founders. Altars on the left and right are belong to the clan members. At the ancestral worship hall or De Xing Hall, is supported by four imposing red wooden pillars, which houses the honorary statues of the first ancestor Shun Emperor Chung Hua Master (Shun Di) and descendants Chen Hu Man Master and Kai Zhang Ruler Chen Yuan Guang Master.
The Chan She Shu Yuen Clan Association colorful Chinese architecture on display is a delight to see. Admission to Chan She Shu Yuen Clan Association is free and donations are welcome. It opens daily from 8am to 5pm.
